Landscape Design at its best at NJBG. The Gardens at NJBG owe their elegant beauty to some of the best-known landscape architects of the 1890s and 1920s. Protogées of Central Park builder Frederick Law Olmstead brought wide open spaces and winding paths to NJBG during the 1890s, and in the 1920s, owner Clarence Lewis brought in the designers of Rockefeller Center and the National Gallery of Art to add cascading Italianate gardens, formal plantings, and landscapes for the many plants Lewis collected from all around the world. Come learn more in a fascinating presentation by NJBG's Head Landscape Designer Rich Flynn.
