Elecampane (Inula helenium)
Elecampane (Inula helenium) is native to eurasia, China through to spain, and is naturalized in North America. The plants name helenium refers to "Helen of Troy" and is said to have sprung from her tears. it was sacred to the Celts having the name "Elfwort". Elecampane is now flowering in the West Milford Medicinal Plant garden in Hewitt, NJ
