: We are interested to join an excursion with the possibility to see the black bear. Are there any trips available? : Thank you in advance, : Dirk Pronk Hey Dirk, To tell the truth, I don't really go out searching for bears, but try to avoid them! There has been quite a few reported sitings of bears recently in West. Milford. A bear track in the snow has been reported to be 13 1/2 inches in length! Thats a BIG ONE! Any how, in response to your question, there are bear seminars every once in a while (check the calendar at http://calendar.rt23.com/ ). There is an expedition with the Pequannock River Coalition in May touring the river area that you may be interested in, although they are not specifically looking for bears. They will be in bear country and it will be a nice presentation in the New Jersey Highlands. Use the link below to find out more!
