A reminder that our annual autumn hike will be held on Sunday, October 27th. Hikers will meet 10AM at the NJ Transit park-and-ride lot on Old Rt. 23 in West Milford. From the north or south take Rt. 23 to the light at Old Rt. 23 (just south of Union Valley Rd). Follow this road east about 200 yards to the parking lot on the right.



No pre-registration required, however there is a $5 fee for non-members. We will car-pool from there to the trailhead (just a mile away) so please arrive before 9:45 to ensure a prompt start.

The hike will tour Kanouse Mountain with spectacular forests, abundant wildlife and stellar views. Always a crowd-pleaser!



The trail is not flat, with a good half-mile uphill section, and can be muddy in spots, so dress accordingly. But the views are worth it, and we will cover the 4-mile route at a leisurely pace. Our hikes are about enjoyment, not aerobics.

A lunch break will be held at 12:30 and the hike should finish by 2:00-3:00 PM. Bring lunch and a drink.
