This Sunday the Pike County Choral Society will present a performance of Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah. The work is written for vocal solists and chorus, and I will sing the soprano solos and the part of the Queen. Joining us in the part of Elijah is a bass/baritone from MA, with Rev. David Mason in the tenor solos, the soloists of the Pike County Choral Society and Henry Repp on the organ, under the direction of Johanan Bickhardt. It is a beautiful epic work, sung in it's English version, depicting various events in the life of the Biblical prophet Elijah, taken from the books 1 Kings and 2 Kings in the Old Testament. The performance will take place at the First Presbyterian Church at 308 Broad Street in the historic town of Milford, PA, just 30 minutes from Middletown on I84. Tickets are $10.
