You are invited to Long Pond Ironworks on May 31 – June 1, 2008, for the annual Civil War Living History Weekend. The weekend will feature reenactors from the 6th New Hampshire Volunteers and the 12th Alabama Infantry. The Union and Confederate camps will be open for visitors to tour; the reenactors will give ongoing demonstrations of military drills and camp life throughout the weekend. Skirmishes will occur throughout the weekend.
There will be a Candle Light STROLL @ 6 pm for families with children ages 1 - 11 years old. Candle Light Tours will be at 8:00 pm for families with kids 12 and older, with a 9:30 pm tour for adults only. The 8 and 9:30 tours include entertainment at the furnaces.
The Friends of Long Pond Ironworks is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the remaining structures of this unique 18th and 19th century industrial site and village and interpreting its history. FOLPI is an Officially Recognized Friends Organization of Long Pond Ironworks State Park.
