27TH ANNUAL NEW YEARS DAY HIKE, Exploring the lost Hamlet of Sandyfield. Meet at 9:45 at the Entrance to Lake Welch Boat Launch. Park on roadside at intersection of county route 106 and Johnstown Road. From Kanawauke Circle travel east for 1.6 miles on county route 106 to Lake Welch Boat Launch entrance in Harriman State Park, NY.Hike steps off promptly at 10:00 AM



l Bring a lunch and, if you wish, a treat to share with the group. We will have lunch at an interesting place. This hike is moderate, along woods roads, paved roads and along the Beech Trail. We expect to return to the parking area by 3:00 PM. HIGHLIGHTS: We will hike along the Hasenclever Road, visit two 19th century cemeteries, an old farmstead's root cellar and stone fences, examine an alleged "coal mine" and cross a haunted bridge.
