It’s that time! Once again, PRC will tour the spectacular vistas of Copperas Mountain in a season of fabulous autumn color. Despite its mountaintop location, this is one of our easiest hikes— mostly level and only 3 miles in length. It is a great outing for anyone to enjoy, young or old, especially kids!



The hike will start at 10 AM and should finish around 1:30 PM. Hikers will meet at a gravel parking lot on the right hand (north) side of Green Pond Road, just a quarter mile from Rt. 23. Please arrive by 9:45 to ensure a prompt start. We will car pool from there to the nearby trail head.



To reach the parking lot from the south, follow Rt. 23 north to La Rue Road, u-turn at La Rue onto Rt. 23 south, then make the first right onto Green Pond Road.



Bring a drink and lunch since there is a stellar spot for a picnic stop. Cameras and binoculars are good options. Please wear sturdy shoes or boots. This is also a rain-or-shine event (within reason), so be prepared. If in doubt give us a call for a last minute update. Can’t wait!
