With the Labor Day Holiday behind us, its time to sadly say goodbye to Summer 2026. Our garden was a bit disappointing with the produce, but we did harvest cucamelons, eggplant, cucumbers, green beans and cherry tomatoes.
But with our 2026 summer garden behind us, we are preparing for winter weather. This involves getting our home ready for the cold and snowy weather that will be here sooner than later. but for now we can enjoy the pleasant fall days and cool nights. W will prepare by removing storing our window air conditioning units. Large window air conditioners that cannot be easily removed will be covered. Our garden furniture will also be moved indoors or cobered with tarps.

Getting your vaccination has never been easier or more affordable. You can get your flu shot at many supermarkets or local drug store usually for free! Every year scientist try to predict the variant of flu that may be prevalent in the United States. Your body’s defences depend on recognizing proteins in the flu virus. These proteins mutate over time requiring the vaccine to be updated. The two proteins are Hemagglutinin (H) and Neuraminidase (N). These are the H and N used in the virus strain identification such as “A/Missouri/11/2025 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus”. H3N2, a subtype known for rapid mutation and for causing more severe seasons in older adults.
