The closure is scheduled to be in place by 5:30 p.m. tonight, Monday, August 8 with traffic detoured until the repair is completed, which is expected to take a few days. Route 23 northbound will not be affected.
The following detour will be in place:

Route 23 southbound traffic will be directed to continue to the exit for I-287 northbound
From I-287, motorists should take the first exit for Route 23 northbound
From Route 23 northbound take the first exit for I-287 southbound
NJDOT recommends that motorists plan their trips accordingly and prepare for delays in the region.
NJDOT will be using Variable Message Signs to provide advance notification to motorists of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
