Venture deep into bear country in this permit-only watershed hike. on Sunday June 2, 2002 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. This 7 mile strenuous hike to Buckabear Pond features secluded wetlands rich with wildlife including beavers and herons on this remote stretch of the Highlands Trail. Don Weise from New Jersey Audubon Society’s Weis Ecology Center will be leading this very strenuous hike for athletic people in good cardiovascular shape. The cost for this wildflower walk is $8 with a $3 discount for Members of New Jersey Audubon Society. To register please mail your name, address, phone number, number of participants and a check payable to Weis Ecology Center.
