"Headwaters of the Mighty Passaic River"
This hike is a four mile loop along the NJ Brigade Trail and Patriots Path taht will take around three hours to complette. It is moderate with some hilly and rocky terrain appropriate for most hikers. There are many historical and natural resources along the way including the New Jersey Brigade Encampment Site of 1779-1780 and deciduous woodland. Over sixty breeding birds and twenty different mammal species reside in this habitat. Lunch will be served at the NJ Audubon visitor center. The guest speaker will discuss birding at the headwaters of the Passaic River. Steady rain postpones to June 2.
$15 per hiker, includes lunch. Call for details.
