First Day Hike. Join State Park staff and Skylands Association volunteers on a self-guided family friendly hike in the Park woodlands. Weather permitting; we will climb to the Mt. Defiance overlook on the Halifax trail and return. Wear sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothes, small children may need to be carried. Meet at the Carriage House Visitor Center of Skylands Manor State Park between 1pm and 2pm. Allow 90 minutes for the hike. Map and hike directions will be provided at the start.
