Turkey Program at Pequest. A free seminar on wild turkeys will be offered at Pequest on Saturday, March 12 at 1:00 p.m. The program will be conducted by NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife Director and wildlife biologist Dave Chanda and highlights the agency's Wild Turkey Restoration Project, the life history of our largest and smartest game bird, along with some excellent hunting tips. There will be a calling clinic conducted by members of the NJ Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation at 2:30 p.m. immediately following the seminar. The clinic is oriented for youngsters 10 to 18 but is open to all individuals, and will demonstrate the use of box, slate, and air operated turkey calls.
