Pi Day Celebration
Jersey City, New Jersey
9 AM – 5:30 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2020

Liberty Science Center at Liberty State Park
222 Jersey City Blvd.
Jersey City, New Jersey

Join us Saturday, March 14 for the most marvelous math day of the year! That’s right—it’s Liberty Science Center’s Pi Day Celebration! Bring your family for a fun day of themed adventures and activities. Pi has been calculated beyond 31 trillion digits, with no end in sight. During your visit, add a digit to our ever-growing line of numbers, stretching through the atrium and beyond! The fun continues from there. Explore the different ways mathematicians calculate pi via hands-on activities. Measure the circumference and diameter of circles throughout the building. Join our animal team as they count all our Madagascar hissing cockroaches in the annual Cockroach Count. Our youngest guests will also love learning the basics of counting in our “Play by Numbers” activity. Count sheep, add and subtract on a giant abacus, count fingers on a giant hand, and more! During your visit, be sure to also catch a show in the planetarium, send birds soaring in Angry Birds Universe, and learn about different animals in Wild Kratts: Creature Power!
