Native American Artifact Display & Identification Day
Ringwood, New Jersey
1:30 PM on Sunday, June 13, 2021
Ringwood Manor
1304 Sloatsburg Road
Ringwood, New Jersey
Join members of the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society to discover regional Native American artifacts! Items such as arrowheads, projectile points, axes, stone tools, and pottery fragments recovered from sites in the region will be on display for visitors to learn from. Participants will be permitted to handle and touch artifacts and discuss their function and use with members of the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society. Bring your Native American artifacts and have them identified and authenticated by Ed Lenik, archaeologist and author of several books on the Ramapough Mountain Indians and Indian rock art. Lenik will provide free authentication of artifact collections and answer questions about Indian culture history. Books written by Mr. Lenik about the Ramapough Indians will be available for purchase. This outdoor event will take place on the grounds surrounding Ringwood Manor. Please note that rain would cancel the event. The event is FREE to participate in, but please note there is a per car parking fee to enter the park: $5 for in-state vehicles and $7 for out-of-state vehicles.
