Join me on August 7th at 10:00 a.m. for a history walking tour of the Tory Corner section in downtown West Orange. The tour will begin from the Washington Street School at 289 Main Street in West Orange. Free parking is available in the lot’s entrance on Washington Street. The walking tour will last a little over an hour and loop back to the same location.

The walk will examine the history of Tory Corner from the early days of the American Revolution to the present day. The transformation process of three centuries has evolved from hitching posts to parking meters.

Trolley stops, blacksmiths, hotels, stables, movie theaters, and private residences, all once existed along a well-travelled route of commerce. See how Tory Corner landmarks cleverly blend with yesterday’s history as neighborhood businesses in the West Orange community of today.
