Today we are fortunate to be hosting the 2nd NJ (Helm's Co.) for an on-site Revolutionary War Day! The Helm's Co. will be on the east lawn of the Manor along the lower driveway. MUSEUM TOURS Tours of Shippen Manor Museum are TBD. MUSEUM ENTRANCES (for when the museum is open to the public): Both entrances are located along the upper drive, and accessible to the boardwalk. 1. Robeson Study Entrance: This is our regular entrance (one-step up into building) 2. Reception Room Entrance: This is our accessibility entrance (slight slope once in the building) PARKING For those with mobility issues, there are stairs to get onto the lower porch, but there is no ramp for wheelchairs. Shippen Manor has limited parking spots on site and those are reserved for (handicap) accessible vehicles. Everyone else is invited to park on Washington Avenue in town (past the Church, not at the bottom of the hill from the Manor) as well as the municipal lot accessible off Wall Street to Allen Avenue. Please do not block or park in residents' driveways, and adhere to all town parking signs and ordinances and use caution while crossing the street to our site. Note: for those blocking driveways or parking in locations not allowable, please be informed that you will be ticketed by the Washington Twp. Police. This includes the part of Washington Avenue by the stage. OTHER Food and drink are not permitted inside of the museum. Certified service animals are permitted to enter with their handlers. Other pets are not permitted inside of the museum. This is a family-friendly historic site. Shippen Manor is a part of the Warren County Parks System and is an alcohol, drug and tobacco-free site.
