Join Naturalists from New Jersey Audubon Society’s Weis Ecology Center for a winter excursion to High Point State Park. We’ll carpool to High Point Cross Country Ski Center in Sussex County, NJ and ski-hike along easy and moderate groomed trails searching for animal tracks and other signs of winter activity. Participants must have some experience on skis or be a graduate of Weis’ Beginner Ski Clinics (contact Weis for more information on clinics).
The cost of the ski-hike is $35 per person, with a $10 discount for members of the New Jersey Audubon Society which includes equipment rental. If you have your own equipment the cost is $25 for and $15 for members of NJAS. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. The Weis Ecology Center is one of nine staffed centers operated by the New Jersey Audubon Society, a private, not-for-profit, member supported organization. The Center’s goal is to enhance people’s awareness of, and appreciation for, their environment. Specializing in full-day and residential environmental education programs for school, scout and other youth and adult groups, Weis is also recognized for its popular public programs for adults, kids and families. The Weis Visitors Center, open during business hours, houses their turtle, snakes, seasonal exhibits and an NJAS Nature Store featuring field guides, bird feeders and accessories, kid stuff, regional trail maps and more.
