Bring the whole family to New Jersey Audubon Society's Weis Ecology Center for a springtime afternoon of traditional maple sugaring on Sunday, March 21st. Weis has been tapping trees and making it's own syrup for 19 years! Festival participants will get to experience first hand the process of making pure maple syrup from tapping the tree and collecting the sap to cooking it down in the kitchen and finally a taste test. Tours last one hour and leave the Weis Visitors Center every 20 minutes from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Maple Sugaring Festival will be held rain or shine so participants are encouraged to dress for the weather. The cost for participating is $5 per person, with a family (parent/child) maximum of $20 and supports environmental educational endeavors at the center. Pre-registration is not required for this program.
