The New Jersey Audubon Society's Weis Ecology Center invites you to their 20th Annual Camouflaged Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 10th, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The Weis Ecology Center puts an old twist on this new tradition by using natural dying methods to create stone grey, leaf brown, wood red and moss lichen eggs and then hiding them in our field and woods. There are special prizes in each age group for lucky hunters and the finders of the Golden Egg. Our egg hunt is a fun challenge for children ages 3-4, 5-7 & 8-10 and illustrates the idea of protective coloration. An adult must accompany children younger than five during the hunt. The event is BYOB (Bring Your Own Basket) and held rain or shine.
The cost of the Egg Hunt is $5 per child, and supports Weis' educational endeavors. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. To register mail your name, address, phone number, the number of participants and payment to: NJAS' Weis Ecology Center, 150 Snake Den Road, Ringwood, NJ 07456. For more information, or to register with a credit card, contact the Weis Ecology Center office at (973) 835-2160 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.
