Eve Jochnowitz, Yiddish instructor at Rutgers University and the Workman’s Circle Arbeiter Ring, will give a talk entitled Send a Salami to Your Boy in the Army: Jewish Food and Memories on the Lower East Side.
Jochnowitz is also a Cooking and Foodways teacher at Living Traditions Klezkamp and a Culinary History instructor at the New School University. She is currently working on a doctoral dissertation on the subject of Jewish culinary ethnography at New York University. She has lectured both in the United States and abroad on food in Jewish tradition, religion, ritual, and popular culture.
