Ringwood - The Weis Ecology Center invites you to join Don Weise on Sunday, September 19 for a very strenuous 8-10 mile hike along the Appalachian Trail south of route 206 featuring superb mountain top views of the Delaware River Valley and the Poconos with a side trip to Tillman's Ravine. The terrain is steep and the pace is fast, so good cardiovascular fitness is required. Registrants must dress appropriately for the expected conditions, bring a lunch, and bring plenty of fluids. The hike begins at 9:30 am and directions to the meeting point will be sent upon registration. Future hikes are scheduled for October 10, October 24, and November 14.
The cost of this hike is $8 per person, with a $3 discount for members of the New Jersey Audubon Society. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. To register mail your name, address, phone number, the number of participants and payment to: NJAS' Weis Ecology Center, 150 Snake Den Road, Ringwood, NJ 07456.
