Ringwood - Gather up the family and come join Weis Naturalist Alison Bielen as she leads this moderately easy 2-mile hike through Norvin Green State Forest on Sunday, October 10th. The slow pace of this hike will allow ample time for viewing the NJ Highland's autumn color pageant and nature's preparations for the coming winter. The hike will include a stop at the abandoned Roomey Iron Mine, where kids and parents alike will have an opportunity to explore the geological aspects of our native land. The hike will depart at 1:00 pm., and will return at 3:00 pm. Please note that this hike is best suited for families with pre-teens.
The cost of the Family Hike for Fall Foliage is $8 per person, with a $3 discount for members of the New Jersey Audubon Society. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
