(Hoboken, NJ) – Join us on February 6th for ARTISTS' OPEN STUDIO DAY at Monroe Center for the Arts, located at 720 Monroe Street between 7th and 8th Streets and adjacent to the Ninth Street Station of the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail System.
Explore Monroe Center’s multi-disciplinary arts community. With over 60 artists and artisans, you will find photographers, fabric designers, painters, musicians, dancers, jewelers, silk painters, sculptors, fashion designers, puppet makers, shoe designers, pilates and yoga instructors, art teachers, cake designers, muralists, quilters, antique restorers and so much more.
Monroe Gallery will feature a variety of works by NY Metropolitan Area artists, including works by –
Vilma Gonzalez: Born in Puerto Rico, Vilma’s landscape-inspired oil paintings were recently on exhibit in Hoboken's City Hall during the Annual Hoboken Artists' Studio Tour.
James Kennedy: Kennedy moved to US in March 2003 from Northern Ireland. He developed his talent for fine art painting through his work as interior- artist and faux finisher. His works were recently shown at Maurice Villency New York and The Affordable Art Fair New York in Oct 2004.
Christopher Silk: A New Jersey contemporary painter and graphic artist, his abstract and figurative works will be on exhibit.
Bobby Travieso: Secaucus artist Bobby Travieso is a cartoonist with recent exhibits at Havana Bay coffee shop in Dec ’04 and Monroe Center for our December 3 Artists’ Open Studio Day.
