“Matchbook”… “Ottawa”… “German doctor”… These are the baffling last words of David, a young man dying of AIDS. David’s dysfunctional family gathers at his bedside, trying to unravel the mystery of his life even as it slips away. "The Soldier Dreams" is a warm, touching, darkly funny play, written by Canadian playwright Daniel MacIvor, and presented by the Pride Theatre of New Jersey in Union. This production represents the New Jersey premiere of the play, which won two Dora Mavor Moore Awards for outstanding achievements in Toronto theatre.
Performances will be at Kean University, at the Murphy-Dunn Theatre, on June 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12. All performances are at 8 p.m. except June 12, which is at 2 p.m. The show runs about an hour and fifteen minutes, with no intermission. The language is mild.
Tickets are $10; $7 for students and seniors. Group rates are available. (For a group larger than ten, tickets will be $5.) No advance reservations; all tickets are sold at the door prior to the performance.
