Along with its popular Artists’ Open Studio Day, Monroe Center for the Arts will showcase the creativity and talent of Hoboken’s youth by sponsoring its first annual Art Show for Kids in the Monroe Gallery, Sunday, May 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monroe Center for the Arts is a multi-disciplinary arts community that houses over 70 artists. Each month, Artists’ Open Studio Day offers the Metropolitan area the opportunity to visit the studios of photographers, fabric designers, painters, music instructors, jewelers, silk painters, fashion designers, shoe designers, pilates and dance instructors, art teachers, muralists, quilters and so much more. Monroe Center guarantees a day of inspiration for all ages.
During the May Open Studio Day, Monroe Gallery will feature an exhibit showcasing the work of young Hoboken artists grades K-8. Hoboken schools involved in the event include A.J. Demarest Middle School, The Hudson School, Mustard Seed School and Stevens Cooperative School.
