Up, up and away! Join us as we visit the scenic ridgeline of Kanouse Mountain for our autumn hike on October 9th. The route offers a stellar view of the New York skyline and the lower Pequannock River valley for the first blush of fall foliage.



The hike begins at the park-and-ride lot on Old Route 23 in West Milford. From Rt. 287 and south, take Rt. 23 north about 8 miles to Old Route 23. This is a right turn at the 1st traffic light past Echo Lake Road. (From the north, it�s the first light past Green Pond Road). The lot is on the right about 1/4 mile down.



We will begin at 10 AM and should finish by 2 PM. The event is rain or shine (within reason). Please arrive early to assure a prompt start. Wear hiking clothes, bring lunch and a drink.



The full route is about 4 miles. Like all of our hikes, it was chosen for scenery and wildlife, not aerobics. We will cover it at a leisurely pace, stopping often to enjoy points of interest. See you there!
