Rt. 515
Vernon, New Jersey
Our winter hike will tour the high headwaters of the Pequannock River. The route is mostly level and the scenery wonderful. As always, the pace will be leisurely with frequent stops to smell the roses, such as they are in February. Come along!
The hike will start 10 AM at the Hamburg Mountain Wildlife Management Area on Rt. 515 in Vernon. We will cover about 3 miles and finish around 2 PM.
To reach the starting point, take Rt. 23 (north or south) to Rt. 515 in Hardyston. Follow Rt. 515 north toward Vernonabout 8 miles. Look for the Wildlife Mgt. Area signs and entrance road on the left. Bring a lunch and dress for the weather. See you there!
Rain/Snow date is Feb 26th.
