Pequannock River Coalition Winter Hike
Winter is long and spring is far off. Is that a bad thing? We don’t think so. Embrace the season with our winter hike!
Following a mostly level 4-mile route, and covered at an easy pace, this event is always a crowd pleaser. With a little luck the snow-covered ground will provide ideal tracking conditions. And what could be better than hot chocolate shared with good friends on a chilly afternoon? Let’s go!
Hikers will meet at a gravel parking lot on Green Pond Road. The lot is on the right hand (north) side of Green Pond Road, just a quarter mile from Rt. 23. To reach it from the south, follow Rt. 23 north to La Rue Road, u-turn at La Rue onto Rt. 23 south, then take the first right onto Green Pond Road.
The hike will start at 10:00 AM and should finish around 2:00 PM. We ask that you arrive by 9:45 to ensure a prompt start. Please dress appropriately, bring lunch, and expect the full glory of winter in the Highlands. Need more info? Shoot me an email. See you there!
