The township is planning to continue the cleanup from the March flooding over the next two months but is using the spring season to hit more than just the floodplain.
Councilman Joe Jorgensen said at the council's March 23 meeting that the fourth annual River Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, and the township administration is evaluating which areas to work on first.
A variety of people, ranging from high-school students to Boy Scouts to a crew from the Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park, will participate in the event organized by the township's Environmental Commission and spearheaded by EC member Rudy Steinthal.
