With the new 3-mile fence surrounding hundreds of acres there, the Apshawa Preserve in West Milford has been a hot-button item for PRC lately. Here is a chance to tour this beautiful area and find out what all the fuss is about. Spring blooms, rushing streams, and abundant wildlife. Let’s go!



To reach Apshawa from the south, take Rt. 23 north from Rt. 287 about 4 miles, then turn right onto Highcrest Drive. Keep right on Highcrest with the lake on your left and watch for Macopin Terrace on the right. Turn right onto Macopin then make the first left onto Northwood Drive. Apshawa Preserve is on the left. For GPS users, plug in 15 Northwood Drive, West Milford.



Please bring a snack and drink for our lunch stop. The hike starts promptly at 10AM -no waiting for slackers! We should wrap up around 2PM. It’s a rain-or-shine event, within reason.



For the first time we will be charging a minimal $5 fee for non-members to join our hike. Folks under 18 are free.
