Nu-Utopians - Celebrating the music of John Lennon
Piermont, New York
8:00 PM on Friday, May 20, 2011
Turning Point
468 Piermont Ave
Piermont, New York
One of the most unique and compelling interpretations of John Lennon’s compositions comes from The Nu-Utopians (formerly The John Lennon Song Project), a seven-piece ensemble created and led by Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step & Tom Dean of Devonsquare. Together they have produced a thoughtfully re-imagined tribute that celebrates the genius and artistry of the icon’s music. The show includes renditions of Lennon’s legendary Beatles songs, as well as from his solo years and features entertaining storytelling, superb lead singing and 3-part harmonies, plus a host of talented musicians on acoustic, electric and bass guitars, cello, violin, mandola, accordion, chromatic harmonica and light percussion. The band's debut CD "Imagined" was nominated Independent Music Awards Best Tribute Album of the Year. www.nu-utopians.com
