On Thursday, April 18th at 8:00pm, Orpheus will be performing, with special guest Hélène Grimaud, piano, Schumann's Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54. The evening's program will also feature Brahms' Serenade No. 1 in D major and David Diamond's Rounds. Tickets for this performance are $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for students and seniors. A special post concert reception will take place with members of the orchestra for those who purchase a $50.00 ticket.

Recognized internationally as one of the world's great orchestras, Orpheus is currently celebrating its 29th season. Founded in 1972, Orpheus is a self-governing organization high level of personal and musical responsibility of one another. They rotate seating positions to give each player the opportunity to lead a section and together they make the interpretive decisions that are ordinarily the work of a conductor. They also choose the repertoire, create the programs, and continually study and refine their rehearsal techniques, known today as the "Orpheus Process."

Accompanying the critical acclaim for Orpheus' live appearances are numerous distinctions and awards, including a 2001 Grammy® Award for "Shadow Dances: Stravinsky Miniatures," three 1999 Grammy® Awards for its jazz-inspired Ravel and Gershwin collaboration with Herbie Hancock, a 1998 Grammy® nomination for its recording of Mozart piano concertos with Richard Goode, and the 1998 "Ensemble of the Year" award by Musical America.
